GS1 Digital Link QR Code Generator

Turn a product GTIN into a GS1 Digital Link QR code — the retail standard replacing EAN/UPC barcodes by 2027. We validate the check digit, build the standard URI and give you print-ready PNG, SVG and EPS files. Free, in your browser, never expires.

Default is the official GS1 resolver (id.gs1.org). Use your own domain if you run a GS1-conformant resolver.

FAQ

What is a GS1 Digital Link QR code?
It encodes your product’s GTIN (the number under the barcode) as a standard https URL, e.g. https://id.gs1.org/01/09506000134352. One code works both as a web link for consumers and as a GS1-conformant product identifier for retail scanners — the basis of the "Sunrise 2027" transition from EAN/UPC barcodes to QR.
Where do I get a GTIN?
GTINs are issued by GS1 member organisations. If you sell physical products you likely already have GTIN-13 (EAN) or GTIN-12 (UPC) numbers from GS1. This tool validates the check digit so typos are caught before printing.
What are AI 10, 21 and 17?
GS1 Application Identifiers: 10 is the batch/lot number, 21 the serial number and 17 the expiry date (YYMMDD). Adding them lets scanners resolve batch-specific information such as recalls or expiry checks.
Is this free? Does the code expire?
Yes, free, and the QR code is static — the URI is encoded directly in the pixels, generated entirely in your browser. It never expires and we never see your product data.

Building this into your own app? The GTIN validation and Digital Link builder behind this tool is open source (MIT): gs1-digital-link-kit.
