WiFi QR codes: nobody should have to type your password

← All QR code solutions

The WiFi password conversation happens dozens of times a day in cafés, offices, clinics and guest rooms — and the password is always sixteen characters with a capital somewhere. A WiFi QR code ends it: scan, tap "Join", connected. HonestQR generates it free, in your browser (your password never touches our servers), with print-ready exports and a matching sign template.

How WiFi QR codes work

Who uses WiFi codes

Cafés and restaurants (stop repeating the password during rush), offices (guest network at reception), hotels and vacation rentals (room-card WiFi), clinics and salons (waiting-area WiFi), event venues and weddings. If the password rotates on a schedule, regenerate the free static code — or print a dynamic code that points to a small WiFi info page you edit.

Start from the WiFi template

The template presets the WiFi content type with a "FREE WIFI" frame — one click, then enter your network:

Make yours in two minutes

  1. Open the generator with the Guest WiFi template.
  2. Enter the network name (SSID), password and security type (WPA for almost everyone).
  3. Optionally brand it — logo, colors — keeping the contrast check green.
  4. Download and print, or use the free printable WiFi sign template for a ready-to-frame design.

FAQ

Does it work on both iPhone and Android? Yes. Both platforms scan WiFi codes with the native camera and show a "Join network" prompt — no app required on any phone from roughly 2018 onward.

Is my WiFi password uploaded anywhere? No. The code is generated entirely in your browser; the password is encoded into the image on your device and never sent to us.

What happens when I change the password? Static WiFi codes encode the password itself, so regenerate the code (free) and reprint. If reprinting is a burden, print a dynamic code pointing at an instruction page you edit instead.

Hidden networks? Yes — tick the "hidden network" option and phones will join even though the SSID does not broadcast.
